NAMIWALKS, 2023
he National Alliance on Mental Illness of Maryland, known regionally as NAMI Maryland, is hosting a virtual launch event to officially begin the NAMIWalks Maryland campaign, now in its 21st season, and promote awareness and resources for mental health. NAMIWalks' public, active display of support for people affected by mental health conditions is one important way NAMI is changing how Americans view people with mental illness.
Over the past year alone, NAMIWalks has surged to new levels of popularity and impact, leading NAMI to be recognized as the Peer-to-Peer Fundraising Organization of the Year. Taking place in more than 120 locations across the country, NAMIWalks invites participants to share their stories, build community, and walk together to achieve Mental Health for All. Funds raised directly support NAMI’s mission of education, advocacy, support, and public awareness.
The virtual NAMIWalks Maryland Launch Party will feature a special welcome from honorary chairs Senator Ben Cardin and Mrs. Myrna Edelman Cardin, Stories of Hope from core NAMIWalks Maryland participants, and will showcase information about NAMI and the upcoming NAMIWalks Maryland on May 20th, 2023. This virtual launch event is free and open to the public.
