Charm City Basketball Week, Tourney it Up Bmore., the anticipation & celebration of the 4-day NCAA College Basketball Tournament being held at Royal Farms Arena from February 22-26, 2022. The 12 team field of men's and women's college basketball will be on showcase in the heart of Charm City.
Also being honored during Charm City Basketball Week is NBA great, Hall of Famer & former Baltimore Bullet (1963-67) Earl "The Pearl" Monroe. Monroe was the 2nd overall of the 1967 NBA Draft (Winston-Salem State) by the Baltimore Bullets after averaging 41.5 ppg and leading the Rams to the 1967 NCAA College Division II Championship with a 77-74 win vs SW Missouri State. In 4-years with Winston-Salem State Earl averaged 26.7 points, scoring 2,395 total points in 110 games. He remains the leading scorer in CIAA basketball history.
The "Charm'tastic Mile" (Love That 1.3) www.thecharmtasticmile.com the famed 1.3 mile corridor that connects Dwtn-West, the Inner Harbor & Harbor East is seeking a Proclamation by Mayor Brandon Scott to declare and Proclaim February 22-26, 2022 as Charm City Basketball Week for the citizens of Baltimore and the traveling tourists to the College Basketball Tournament.
