1st Annual Whistle Warrior 5K
Grab your whistle and your team for the 1st Annual Whistle Warriors 5K presented by Ref Junkies to raise awareness of the shortage of referees and officials, and raise money to benefit youth sports programs. The run/walk is Saturday, Aug. 10 at 8:30 am at Iroquois Park. The entry fee is $30 and includes a free shirt and medal. Officials who run in their uniform shirts will receive a special gift.
Funds from the 5K will be used to support youth officiating programs, provide necessary equipment and uniforms and create scholarships for aspiring young officials. The event is sponsored by Watters Family Bottling Company, Runnin Ref, True Officials, Swags Sport Shoes, Bishop Therapy and VyFy Wellness Club.
