"Adventure Awaits"

Want to go on adventure without leaving your seat? Come to the Wednesday, March 1 free concert presented by the Scottsdale Concert Band at 7:30 p.m. in the Scottsdale Community College Amphitheater. The band, Scottsdale’s own award-winning community band, will perform a concert titled “Adventure Awaits.” You’ll go from Arizona (‘Grand Canyon Fanfare”) to Central America (“The Pathfinder of Panama” march) to outer space (“Star Wars: The Force Awakens”). Also on the program will be “Danse Diabolique,” “Perthshire Majesty,” “Wedding Dance” and more. The Scottsdale Concert Band, now in its 45th season, is the winner of a Sudler Silver Scroll, which is presented by the John Philip Sousa Foundation and is the most prestigious award available to a community concert band. For more information about the band and to hear recordings from previous concerts, go to www.scottsdaleconcertband.org, or call the director, Michele Kalo, (602) 327-3168.
