"Warm Embrace" Music Video and Short Documentary Premiere

Local music artist Colby Starkel (known by his artist name, O SOREN) and filmmaker Ian Wang will host the premiere of their collaborative debut single and music video, Warm Embrace, along with a short documentary titled To Letty and Ony, on Saturday, May 24, at 8 p.m. at Xscape Theatres in Louisville. Warm Embrace features scenic visuals from around Louisville parks and studios, exploring themes of faith and redemption through hauntingly honest lyricism and striking cinematography. “O SOREN is a project I’ve been working on for the past three to four years—developing demos, refining drum tones, and exploring organic sounds as I searched for my true voice and presence in music,” said Starkel, the project’s music artist and producer. “I’ve stepped away from pop music and production to embrace a more cinematic flair—drawing from my love of film, intimate string arrangements, and honest lyrics. It’s taken me eight years to release a song I can truly be proud of, and I’m excited for what’s ahead for O SOREN.” The second piece, To Letty and Ony, is a heartfelt documentary that paints a portrait of a young family’s desire to preserve the present for their two daughters. The film celebrates the beauty in the everyday — from moments of play and parenting to the quiet transformation of becoming “mom” and “dad.” Both pieces aim to highlight Louisville-based talent and tell deeply personal stories that resonate with the broader Louisville audience, while celebrating the city’s thriving artistic community of independent creatives. “Nothing excites me more than bringing a concept, an idea, a conversation, to life on screen. Both this short doc and music video are amalgamations of true collaboration, and execution of every fiber of passion me and my crew have for filmmaking,” said Ian Wang, director. “The fact that we have this space to celebrate it in an actual movie theater is extremely thrilling for me.
