St. Matthews Studios & Gallery: Small Works Holiday Opening


Please join the artists of the St. Matthews Studios and Gallery for the following events in November & December: November 6th: SMSG will hold a holiday “small works” reception for the exhibition: ‘Small Works Holiday Opening” from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. New small works will be on display and the artists’ studios will be open. Come out and shop local art and support SMSG! November 7th: St. Matthews Triangle Holiday walk, 6:00 -9:00 PM. The gallery (and artists' studios) will be open for all shoppers to come browse through. Small works will be on display for purchase--a great way to give the gift of art! November 15th & 16th: Louisville Visual Art presents Open Studio from 12:00-5:00 PM. SMSG will join many other galleries across the city to showcase new works and have their individual studios open to the public. Light refreshments will be served. This is not to be missed! December 6th: SMSG Holiday Pop-Up show from 10:00-4:00 PM. The following guest artists will display their creations for purchase: -Judy Goodwin, mixed media/fiber artist: creates beautiful handmade jewelry. -Liz Swearington, paper artist: creates fun, useful, and personalized paper products—perfect for the holidays! The SMSG is located at 3716 Lexington Road, on the second floor, above Colonial Designs. The artists participating are Gayle Cerlan, Teri Dryden, Lynn Dunbar, Jeanne Freibert, Julie Hohmann, Mary Dennis Kannapell, Page Penna, and Gretchen Treitz. The exhibit will continue from November 6th - December 24th with gallery hours Wednesday-Saturday 12:00-4:00pm. (Elevator available to the second floor). The new work in the gallery by this group of creative women includes oil paintings, sculptures, textiles, watercolors, and mixed media. Subject matter ranges from landscapes, to portraits, to abstractions. Each piece of work uniquely captures the spirit of the artists. Their individual studios will be open for all to explore.
