Star Party at The Parklands of Floyds Fork
Join The Parklands Rangers and The Louisville Astronomical Society for a star-gazing party! On January 19th, LAS will be setting up their high-end telescopes for public viewing outside the PNC Achievement Center in Beckley Creek Park. Enjoy the park after dark by stopping by anytime between 6pm – 10pm to star-gaze through high-powered telescopes and learn about the night sky from our rangers and experts in the field of astronomy. Participants will have multiple viewing opportunities of the winter night sky, including views of The Orion Nebula, Jupiter and Saturn, The Horsehead Nebula, and many more wonders of the winter sky. Feel free to bring your own telescope if you need some help setting it up. Don’t worry about the cold! The PNC Achievement Center will be open, and hot drinks will be served to warm up. This event is free and open to all ages, and no registration is required.
