Born in Kenya, Georges' family moved to Lake Victoria, Uganda, where his father intended to be
a fisherman but soon died of malaria. As a child, George would help his mother keep birds away from fishermen's catch, made soccer balls out of plastic bags, and had to write his homework in the dirt with his fingers. Because his mother struggled to provide, George was sent temporarily to an orphanage where he received his first gift.
