BUTLER HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 1974 TO CELEBRATE 50TH ANNIVERSARY AT GOLDEN BEAR DINNER AND NEXT-DAY REUNION Golden Bear dinner is 5 p.m., Friday, September 13 at the school; reunion get-together is 6 p.m. – 10 p.m., Saturday, September 14 at Mill Creek VFW 5421 Day-2 reunion location changed to VFW Post after Pig Beach’s sudden closure LOUISVILLE, Ky.—It’s cliché when it’s someone else’s class, but when it’s yours, it feels fresh and, just maybe, a little shocking: “We graduated high school 50 years ago?!” That’s right, fellow members of the Butler High School class of 1974. We really did. Now let the shock slide off and the party begin. Actually, the parties—plural. The first is the Golden Bear Dinner, an event of the Suda E. Butler Alumni Association. All classes are welcome, and faculty members often come back to help recognize the class that is marking a 50-year association with Butler. This year the Class of ’74 will receive its 50-year pins and join the Alumni Association’s Golden Bear Club. Other highlights of the evening include time to talk and reminisce, a catered meal, the photo booth, a slide show and a chance to wander these halls again. The VFW get-together will have a $5 cover charge and a cash-only bar.
