American Legion Post 244 Community Engagement/Blood Drive

American Legion G.I. Joe Post 244, in keeping with our mission of supporting veterans, active-duty military members, their families, and our community, will host an American Red Cross blood drive on Tuesday, March 26th. Most citizens have little knowledge of how The American Legion not only assists the military community, but also provides support to meet the unique needs of local communities. This blood drive will fill a critical need of our local community and help ensure patients have access to lifesaving blood. We are inviting the press to visit The American Legion G.I. Joe Post 244 during this blood drive to provide public awareness of the community engagement efforts of our Post. A Post officer will be on site to answer any questions and explain how American Legion G.I. Joe Post 244 supports the military and local community through The American Legion, The American Legion Auxiliary, and the Sons of The American Legion (SAL). The American Legion is comprised of those who have served at least one day of active military duty since December 7, 1941, and were honorably discharged, or are still serving active military duty honorably. The American Legion Auxiliary is comprised of male and female spouses, grandmothers, mothers, sisters, and direct and adopted female descendants of members of The American Legion. SAL members include males of all ages whose parents or grandparents served in the U.S. military and were eligible for American Legion membership.
