This special concert celebrates the beauty and tradition of Día de Muertos with timeless Mexican favorites including La Llorona, Paloma Negra, and a moving medley from Disney/Pixar's Coco, creating an evening of remembrance, celebration, and the rich musical traditions of Mexico.
The Latin GRAMMY®-nominated band has six chart-topping albums and have performed across North America – and now they’re bringing their Día de Muertos Tour to New Bedford.
The group has taken the Latin music world by storm since it was founded 10 years ago by César Maldonado. The band fuses traditional repertoire with influences from other Mexican, Caribbean, and Central and South American genres such as salsa, bolero, bossa nova, son jarocho, huapango, and cumbia—held together with deep emotion and bold storytelling. The young, virtuosic band is composed of 14 musicians representing a new bicultural generation in the U.S.
The historic tradition of mariachi music has its roots of origin in cities such as Guadalajara and Mexico City. As the ever-evolving genre's influence spread, it reached Chicago and birthed Mariachi Herencia de México.
Nuestra Herencia, their 2017 debut album, topped the Latin streaming charts and earned the band their first Latin GRAMMY®-nomination for Best Ranchero/Mariachi Album. 2018's Herencia de la Tierra Mía and the two-volume series, Esencia and Esencia, Vol. 2 issued in 2019 and 2020, respectively, charted atop all major streaming platforms and industry charts. In 2022, Herederos appeared as the band were performing a wildly successful North American tour. Herederos received a 2023 Latin GRAMMY® nomination for Best Ranchero/Mariachi Album. In 2025, Mariachi Herencia de México released the groundbreaking album Viva La Música, with six hit singles (Inolvidable, Preciosa, La Murga, Perdón, Espléndida and Caminaré) that have amassed millions of views and streams worldwide.
