Zach Bartholomew Trio: The Music of Bud Powell Reimagined
Presented by award-winning pianist Dr. Zachary Bartholomew and his trio, experience an interactive and exciting concert showcasing the brilliant compositions of one of the most influential pianists and composers of jazz: Earl “Bud” Powell. Along with Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie, Bud Powell changed the landscape of jazz creating the genre known as Bebop. His piano playing style has impacted how pianists approach the instrument and he is widely considered the first modern jazz pianist. The band will present some of his most interesting and exciting compositions as well as original material inspired by this brilliant jazz legend.
