Yom HaShoah
Yom HaShoah, the annual Day of Remembrance to honor the memory of millions of Jewish Holocaust victims, will be observed in a ceremony at the Virginia Holocaust Museum on Sunday, April 27, 2025, from 2-4pm.
The program will feature the lighting of the Holocaust Memorial Candles by survivor families from the Richmond region, the awarding of the Carole Weinstein Prizes for Tolerance and Justice in the Visual Arts, and a keynote address by Ambassador Dennis Ross, the counselor and William Davidson Distinguished Fellow at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy. The six Holocaust Memorial Candles signify the six million Jews who perished in the Holocaust. One of the candles is shorter than the others to represent the 1.5 million children who were killed during one of history’s darkest hours.
Admission is free but reservations are requested for planning purposes.
