WWE Crown Jewel 2023: What to Expect from the Biggest Event in Saudi Arabia
WWE Crown Jewel 2023 is set to be one of the most exciting and star-studded events in the history of WWE’s partnership with Saudi Arabia. The event will take place on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Mohammed Abdu Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and will feature wrestlers from the Raw and SmackDown brand divisions1
The event will be headlined by two blockbuster world title matches. Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns will defend his title against LA Knight, the fastest-rising star in SmackDown history, who earned his opportunity by knocking out Jimmy Uso and defeating Solo Sikoa. Reigns, who has been the dominant champion for over 1,000 days, will face a unique challenge in Knight, who has the charisma, confidence, and power to dethrone The Head of the Table
World Heavyweight Champion Seth “Freakin” Rollins will also put his title on the line against Drew McIntyre, who requested the match face-to-face with The Visionary. Rollins, who successfully defended his title against Cody Rhodes at Fastlane, will have to deal with the relentless aggression and determination of McIntyre, who is looking to reclaim the gold he lost to Reigns at Survivor Series 2022
The event will also feature a historic Fatal 5-Way match for the Women’s World Championship, as Rhea Ripley will defend her title against Nia Jax, Shayna Baszler, Zoey Stark, and Raquel Rodriguez. Ripley, who won the title from Bianca Belair at SummerSlam, will have to overcome the odds against four formidable opponents, each with their own strengths and motivations. Jax and Baszler, who are former Women’s Tag Team Champions, will look to assert their dominance and prove their superiority over the rest of the division. Stark, who is the reigning NXT Women’s Champion, will aim to make history by becoming the first woman to hold two titles simultaneously in WWE. Cody Rhodes, who is the leader of The Elite and the founder of All Elite Wrestling (AEW), will face Damian Priest, who is the leader of The Reckoning and the founder of The Dark Order. Rhodes, who is a former World Heavyweight Champion, will look to prove that he is the best wrestler in the world and that AEW is superior to WWE, while Priest, who is a former United States Champion, will look to defend the honor of WWE and show that The Dark Order is the most dominant faction in wrestling
Rey Mysterio, who is the reigning United States Champion, will face Logan Paul, who is a famous YouTube star and boxer. Mysterio, who is a legendary luchador and a future Hall of Famer, will look to retain his title and teach Paul a lesson in respect and sportsmanship, while Paul, who is a controversial and arrogant celebrity, will look to shock the world and win his first championship in WWE
The event will also feature a match between WWE Women’s Champion IYO SKY and Bianca Belair, who is the former champion and the winner of the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble match.
