WSO...on the Musical Stage
The WSO brings classical and orchestral pops performances to communities across Rhode Island. As a regional volunteer symphony, the WSO seeks to deliver high-quality live music and affordable performances to diverse communities. WSO ensures accessibility and appeals to a wide-ranging audience of varied backgrounds through programming that seamlessly shifts between classical and orchestral pops programs.
In June 2024 the WSO will present a series of events across the Ocean State featuring music from the Classical and Broadway Stage supported by RI State Council on the Arts and sponsored by Bank Newport. WSO returns to the GAMM Theatre …on the Musical Stage on June 7th at 7:30pm.
The program will include a variety of full symphony selections:
Overture to “Candide” – Bernstein
Music from “The Wreckers” – Smyth
Selections from “The Sound of Music” – Rodgers
No One is Alone from “Into the Woods” – Sondheim
Intermezzo Sinfonico from “Cavalleria Rusticana” – Mascagni
Music from “Frozen” – Anderson-Lopez and Lopez
Excerpts from “Orpheus in the Underworld” – Offenbach
