Writers & Readers Open Mic
On Sept. 2, Suzanne Pinto, author of “Rowing Home,” a memoir of sailing from Europe to the Caribbean, will open the 2026-27 Open Mic Series at the Abbot Public Library. A trained psychologist, Pinto was invited to join a team of rowers for the 2600-mile trans-oceanic journey at age 57. She will share portions of her memoir to start the evening and then the mic becomes open to readers and writers from the community for brief five-minute segments. This event runs from 7 p.m. -8:30 p.m. Come early to sign-up.
