Woven Wheat 6-inch Heart
The practice of wheat weaving was a technique used all over the world in regions where grain grew. Because of the Industrial Revolution and changes made in harvesting methods, the art and craft of wheat weaving was almost completely lost. Join us as Christine Metzler helps us rediscover this once common and relaxing art form by creating a Woven Wheat 6-inch Heart. During this program, you will learn the background of this little known Mid-western art form, prepare the wheat, soak the straw, and create a masterpiece. No prior experience needed, just nimble fingers! Please have $22 in exact change to cover instructor fees and material costs. Ages: 16–Adult. Registration fee is $5 per person.
