WORCESTER CONTRA DANCE, Sat. 02/08/2025

● WHEN: Dance 7:30-10:30 pm [short basics session 7:15 pm]

● WHERE: Wesley UMC's Gymnasium, 114 Main Street, Worcester, MA 01608

● WHAT: Public and community shindig! We dance to live fiddle tunes of Ireland, Scotland, England, France, Appalachia and America and it's easy! We often switch partners after every dance so there is no need to bring a partner, and no experience is needed!

● WHO: Great for all ages! And especially for those that like live music, meeting new friends and get exercise! No need to bring a partner, nor have past experience or know how! Do come out and enjoy friendly camaraderie, dancing to live fiddle music and seeing everyone's smiling faces!

● WHY: Because this is so wicked fun! It is the most fun you can have with your clothes on!

● LIVE MUSIC: "DEAD SEA SQUIRRELS"! They are: Cathy Mason, - fiddle; Henry Yoshimura, guitar; and Craig Edwards, fiddle, banjo, button accordion, guitar, mandolin & vocals (but not all at the same time!)!

● CALLER: PAUL WILDE, from RI, Paul will provide pre-dance instruction for beginners on the basic steps at the beginning of the dance.

● ADMISSION: (your choice) $10 - $12 p.p., $6 - $8 students, families $25. Donations are gratefully appreciated!

● PARKING: at WESLEY U.M. CHURCH There is plenty of parking and additional parking behind the building (enter by driving up State St and turning Left into the parking area @ 10-12 State St, Worcester, MA 01609 for Parking:)

● FOOD: Donations of snacks for the break are wanted and gleefully appreciated!

● CLOTHING & FOOTWEAR: Just bring, clean shoes to dance in to preserve the floor (no high heels please). Dress is comfortable and as you like. ● ROLE TERMS are: "Ladies & Gents " but dancers are welcome to choose whatever role that works best for you and some do so no worries! .
