Historian and author Mary Lipsey discusses how difficult it was to get the 14th amendment passed to grant women suffrage. Even then, the journey was not over. Black, Native and many immigrant women could not vote and barriers such as literacy tests and poll taxes stood between them and their destination at the polls. Registration optional. Adults.
