WomenCARE Virtual Film Event Fundraiser

2024 WomenCARE Virtual Film Event Fundraiser (formerly LUNAFEST). Viewing available May 30 – June 5 As some of you may know Clif/LunaBar was acquired by a large corporation that shuttered the Lunafest film festival last year. Though we are saddened (and, frankly, a bit heartbroken) to lose such a brilliant and inspiring film festival, the Santa Cruz Lunafest committee is continuing its efforts to raise funds for WomenCARE. Lunafest raised over $150,000 for WomenCARE over the years, averaging $16,000 annually. We want to continue to engage the community's strong support for WomenCARE, and we came up with a Lunafest alternative. We secured 3 films about women, donated by the generous filmmakers. We are reaching out to all of our past attendees (and others) as well as many of our past sponsors to support this new endeavour. Tickets are $25-$40 for this virtual event. Once the films are ready to stream, ticket buyers will receive an email with the links and instructions for how to stream the films for one week from May 30-June 5. The three films together run about two hours total. You will have the option to start and stop watching as long as you finish before the links expire and within the one week period. Our goal is to raise $10,000. Our presenting sponsor Lanai Financial Solutions, along with an anonymous local family foundation, have donated $4500 in matching funds. Our generous sponsors have added their support and we have raised $6,000 toward our goal! We hope that YOU, our generous community members, will help us reach our goal by purchasing a ticket - and making an additional donation if possible. Together we can make an impactful contribution to WomenCARE again this year.
