WKP presents Ben Jonson's Alchemist at Crellin Park
The Alchemist, Ben Jonson's famous comedy, will be staged in the early modern style--in front of a simple backdrop with audience on three sides of the playing space. All music is acoustic; the audience and the performers share the same lighting. Full of plot twists, disguises and surprises, Alchemist moves at a breakneck pace for the two acts (two hours and twenty minutes , including intermission) of its duration. The wordplay and poetic language make the play a better fit for audiences of teens and adults who enjoy Shakespearean language and a tiny bit of bawdry.
