Take a walk through the forest with a forest expert and get an introduction to what makes a tree or forest healthy and wildfire-ready.
Winter is a great time to see firsthand what a healthy tree and a healthy forest look like. Learn how to:
Spot signs that a tree is weakened or stressed
Identify which trees are more of a problem in winter and wildfire season
Understand what you can do to make your trees and forests healthier and more wildfire-ready
Led by Dillon Sheedy, Registered Professional Forester and the Assistant Wildfire Prevention Manager for the Truckee Fire Protection District.
This will be a walk in snow. You’ll need snowshoes. There will be some snowshoes available to borrow.
