Understand the mechanics and science behind how to properly taste wine and beer. Transform your palate for a deeper understanding of vino and ale. What does pure bitterness do to the flavor of your wine? Or how does a super sweet ingredient in the dish you’re eating pair with what’s in your glass? There is a very simple science behind perfecting pairings. Hannah of Dalälva Wine Tastings & Consulting will share with you how to make every dish you ever eat for the rest of your life taste better, and will allow you to experience those aha-moments where everything just makes sense. In class, we will taste wines and beers in completely different styles, with the purest expression of Sweet, Sour, Salty, Bitter, Spicy, and Umami. The results will astound you.
About Hannah:
Hannah Bellemare is one of the worlds only Gastro-Sommeliers. Being a Gastro-Sommelier means that she is an expert in both culinary science and wine. (Details: University degree in Gastronomy; Culinary science from the University of Umeå, in Northern Sweden. WSET Advanced Sommeliers diploma from the Swedish Restaurant academy of Stockholm.) Recently relocated to the states she has taught the science of food and wine pairing all over the world, as well as here in Philadelphia, at Drexel University.
