Harmony Studios, a nonprofit children’s theater founded by Harmony Barbour is thrilled to announce its upcoming production of Willy Wonka Live. The delicious adventures of Willy Wonka's chocolate factory light up the stage in this captivating, family-friendly, adaptation of Roald Dahl's fantastical tale. Featuring the enchanting songs from the 1971 film, in addition to a host of fun new songs, Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka JR. is a scrumdidilyumptious musical guaranteed to delight everyone's sweet tooth. This enchanting musical will showcase the incredible talent and dedication of our young performers, marking a significant milestone in our journey of nurturing creativity and confidence in children through the arts. As the founder, owner, and director of Harmony Studios, it has been my lifelong dream to create a space where children can explore their creativity, build friendships, and transform into confident performers all while claiming Jesus as their savior. I spent 20 years as a professional performer, burying my beliefs in order to “Not make any waves”. I wanted to create a safe place that Every child performer could experience professionalism without having to sacrifice their beliefs. I am deeply honored to be part of this journey, witnessing firsthand the profound impact our program has on the lives of our young artists. Each rehearsal and performance is a testament to their hard work and dedication, and I am continually amazed by the transformations I see in these children as they embrace their roles and shine on stage. Our journey began with a modest cast of 23 talented performers, primarily comprised of my friends' children. After much persuasion, I was able to bring them on board, and their enthusiasm and passion have been the driving force behind our growth. Over the years, we have expanded our reach, welcoming families from across the community who share our love for the performing arts. Today, our program thrives with a diverse group of aspiring young actors, all eager to take part in this magical experience. At Harmony Studios, we believe that theater is not just about the show; it is about building a supportive community. The families who bring their children to our program are an integral part of this journey, providing encouragement and enthusiasm that fuels our mission. Together, we are not just putting on a production; we are creating lasting memories and fostering lifelong friendships.
