Will Kempe's Players present Ben Jonson's The Alchemist
Bring your chair or blanket and settle into the lawn at the Shaker Height Society. Will Kemp’s Players will whisk you to 17th century London, a place surprisingly like our modern world. Ben Jonsons’s The Alchemist treats you to three scam artists who pose as an alchemist and his entourage.They weaponize gullible people’s idiosyncrasies and secret desires to strip them of their fortunes. Be prepared for disguises, mistaken identities, self-delusion and mischief.
In case of inclement weather, the performance will move inside.
Suitable for all audiences, but the stories told may not interest younger children.
