Wildflowers and Trees of Ohio

Enjoy the outdoors at Spring Grove Cemetery and UC Field Station with UC Botanist, Dr. Denis Conover to discover the diversity of the families of flowering plants at this beautiful time of year. Students will hike outdoors and will learn about native trees, shrubs and wildflowers, and non-native invasive plants. The emphasis will be on plants growing wild in the southwestern Ohio area. Students will learn the plant anatomy and terminology needed to develop their plant identification skills. We will also discuss the ecology of the plants discovered during our field trips. Class sessions take place at Spring Grove Cemetery, except for August 3 which will be at UC Field Station.
