Whittwood Town Center, an open-air shopping center in Whittier, California (https://whittwoodtowncenter.shopkimco.com), invites the community to its eighth annual Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration on Saturday, November 22nd, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Center Courtyard. This annual tradition brings the community together to celebrate the season with family entertainment, fun activities and live holiday music performed by the bands, choirs and orchestras of Whittier Schools. Santa, Mrs. Claus, festive holiday and movie-themed characters (including Marty McFly from “Back to the Future”), and Whittier dignitaries will join the local community for this special evening. After Santa’s arrival and musical performances by three local schools, the center will light its signature Whittwood Christmas tree. Additionally, there will be a trackless train and festive backdrops with a 360° video camera experience, giving guests the perfect spot for holiday photos. In addition to the center’s signature Christmas tree, a second peppermint swirl photo installation will be available throughout the holiday season near Daniel’s Jewelers and T-Mobile, offering guests another festive backdrop for seasonal pictures. The event will also feature hot cocoa, cider and cookies (while supplies last); meet-and-greets with Santa, Mrs. Claus and their festive friends; illuminated holiday performers; vintage car displays; caricature artists; and more. Guests are encouraged to support the “Spark of Love” toy drive by donating a new, unwrapped toy at the Tree Lighting. The first 20 customers to bring a toy will receive a $5 gift card from select Whittwood Town Center stores and restaurants. All toys collected will be donated to the Los Angeles County and Whittier Fire Department’s Annual Toy Drive. This event is free of charge and open to the public; no pre-registration is required to attend. To learn more, visit https://whittwoodtowncenter.shopkimco.com/events.
