Join local writer and producer Simon Kienitz Kincade for his new film Watching Mr. Pearson making its Albuquerque premiere at the Guild Cinema. Each screening of the film will be followed by a Q&A with the filmmaker.
IN ADDITION, the 8:00 PM Wednesday, 8/16 screening will be sponsored by the Alzheimer's Association New Mexico chapter. Stay after for a conversation with local dementia advocates and volunteers about the challenges of caregiving and how we can compassionately support our family, friends and neighbors experiencing cognitive decline.
Watching Mr. Pearson follows immigrant healthcare workers Caroline and Miguel, who split days and nights with legendary Hollywood actor Robert Pearson, a brilliant and talented man battling mental decline. Caroline will stop at nothing to keep Mr. Pearson from slipping away, even if that means casting herself opposite the leading man to perform a scene from one of his old films. And it’s working. Caroline and Robert's make-believe games help him feel alive again, but as the line between fantasy and reality blurs, his grip loosens as Caroline’s gets tighter. With everyone’s livelihood on the line, Miguel and Caroline must work together to save Mr. Pearson’s luminous star from fading to black.
SHOWTIMES: 9/15 - 8:00 9:45 PM | 9/16 - 2:00 - 3:45 PM, 8:00 - 9:45 PM
