Casino Del Sol announced that WAR and Tower of Power, two of the most enduring and influential bands in American funk, soul and R&B, will co-headline a single night at AVA Amphitheater on Saturday, September 19, 2026. The performance continues Casino Del Sol's commitment to bringing nationally recognized, multigenerational talent to Southern Arizona audiences year-round.
Formed in Long Beach, California in 1969, WAR built a catalog of genre-defining hits that fused funk, rock, Latin and soul influences into a singular sound that continues to fill dance floors more than five decades later. Tower of Power, the Oakland-born horn section and band that has performed since 1968, is celebrated for a signature brass sound and rhythm section that helped shape the vocabulary of American funk and R&B. Together, the two acts represent a rare pairing of West Coast musical royalty on a single Tucson stage.
The WAR and Tower of Power performance is the latest addition to AVA Amphitheater's 2026 concert calendar, joining a lineup that reflects the venue's reputation as Southern Arizona's premier outdoor destination for national touring artists. AVA Amphitheater, a 5,000-seat open-air venue at Casino Del Sol, has hosted headline acts year-round and has been recognized as a Casino Arena/Amphitheater of the Year honoree by the Casino Entertainment Awards.
