"Walking Rhode Island" at Woonsocket Harris Library
Spring is almost here and it's perfect time to learn about hiking in the Ocean State! Join John Kostrzewa, author of the “Walking Rhode Island” column for The Providence Journal, for this illustrated presentation detailing John’s many years of hiking across Rhode Island. The presentation will include how John got started, where he's hiked, and what he's learned; details about the history, geological features, vegetation and wildlife along RI trails; what makes Rhode Island’s trails unique; and challenges Rhode Islanders face in maintaining our public preserves.
John's book "Walking Rhode Island," which includes 40 hikes with maps and GPS coordinates, will be available for purchase. Registration encouraged: please register at http://tinyurl.com/walking-ri. Free and open to the public. Location: Library Community Room.
