Wait! No Lunch Until You Paint It!
Try a fun approach to lunch: We’re going to draw it, paint it and then, you can eat it.
Sue Simoneau, who leads Urban Sketchers Rhode Island in the summer, will guide you through this light-hearted workshop. Urban Sketchers are known for drawings that capture everyday life: trash heaps, a doctor’s waiting room and maybe even their hand as they’re drawing a scene. Sometimes when they order lunch, they have to paint it first.
You’ll select sushi from Blu Sushi (soup or salad and two sushi rolls), which will be wheeled to the gallery. They have cooked and raw rolls, and tea. We’ll warm up with quick drawing exercises before lunch arrives. Dessert of tropical fruit to follow. Bring your choice of art materials: acrylics, oils, watercolors, crayons, pencils and at least one painting surface and some scrap for exercises. If you have any Asian items you’d like to add to the scene, please bring them.
When we’re done painting, we’ll eat and discuss the experience.
The manager of Blu Sushi is interested in hanging our art and said he hopes to cater lunch regularly.
NOTE: See the lunch menu (called You Pick Two Blu Lunch). Once you register, I’ll be in touch to get your lunch order. Remember, it’s just a fun chance to paint. https://blusushi.com/menu/
