Volunteer Workday: Wizard Ranch Nature Preserve
Come out to help us restore Wizard Ranch Nature Preserve. We will be working on invasives shrub removal as the first part of a comprehensive eco-restoration program.
What to Expect: We will be working on potentially steep, uneven terrain with multiple trip hazards using hand tools to remove invasive multiflora rose. Hand tools and work gloves will be provided. There are port-a-johns available. This event is for ages 10 and up (participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult).
What to Bring: Dress for the weather; long pants and closed toe shoes are a must. Bring drinking water.
Event Leader: Mary Patterson is an Interpretive Ranger with the Lancaster Conservancy. She is passionate about wildflowers, butterflies, and all the wonderful things that can be discovered outside.
Cancellation Policy: This event will be held rain or shine, with cancellation a day in advance for severe weather. If the Conservancy reschedules the event, attendees will be emailed and tickets will be automatically moved to the new date. If the Conservancy cancels the event, attendees will be notified via email and refunded.
