Vizzio’s Martial Arts Celebrates Grand Opening in Pompton Lakes, Continuing a 50-Year North Jersey Martial Arts Legacy
POMPTON LAKES, N.J. — Vizzio’s Martial Arts will celebrate the grand opening of its new Pompton Lakes location on Saturday, July 18, 2026, beginning at 11:00 a.m. The free community event will feature a traditional Chinese Lion Dance, martial arts demonstrations, complimentary autograph opportunities with Sifu Paul Vizzio, and a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Mayor of Pompton Lakes at 12:00 p.m.
The opening marks the next chapter in a martial arts tradition that has served North Jersey for more than 50 years, as the Vizzio family continues its commitment to authentic martial arts instruction and community leadership.
Guests will experience live martial arts demonstrations, tour the new facility, meet the instructors, and learn about programs for children, teens, adults, and families.
A highlight of the celebration will be an appearance by Sifu Paul Vizzio, a world champion kickboxer and martial arts master with more than five decades of teaching experience in North Jersey. Throughout his competitive career, he earned 17 world title belts across five weight divisions, and his professional fights were televised nationally on ABC, CBS, NBC, Showtime, HBO, and Pay-Per-View. As an instructor, Sifu Vizzio has trained thousands of students and developed elite competitors, including two Olympic Taekwondo medalists who earned gold and silver medals. His influence extends beyond competition, having instructed students from all walks of life, including actress Morgan Fairchild, who trained under him for several years.
Owned and operated by Valentina “Kitti” Vizzio and husband Johnny, Vizzio’s Martial Arts offers traditional Kung Fu, kickboxing, self-defense, and fitness programs designed to help students build confidence, discipline, respect, resilience, and lifelong healthy habits. The Pompton Lakes school continues the Vizzio family’s martial arts tradition while serving the unique needs of its local community. Sifu Vizzio’s first daughter, Peaches Vizzio, operates an established martial arts school in Fairfield, reflecting the family’s ongoing commitment to sharing authentic martial arts instruction throughout North Jersey.
