VITAL SIGNS: Preparing Parents to Recognize the Early Signs of Risk and Drug Use in Their Children

Victoria’s Voice Foundation, a nonprofit providing evidence-based drug education and addiction prevention support for families, will hold a VITAL SIGNS forum for parents on Tuesday, March 12 at Grace Church (13 SE 21 Place) in Cape Coral. Doors open at 6:00 pm, and the program starts promptly at 6:30 p.m. The drug epidemic continues to devastate families and communities nationwide and in the Cape Coral area, with Lee County recording around 200 opioid overdose deaths in 2022. Established by Jackie and David Siegel after losing their teen daughter to an accidental drug overdose, Victoria’s Voice is bringing its popular VITAL SIGNS program to the families of Cape Coral. The initiative equips parents with the tools to identify and address the early signs of drug use in their children. The introduction to this video-supported series is an in-person forum convening leaders in the substance use disorder (SUD) space. Facilitated by Brandy Price Klingman, LCSW, BACS, the forum is presented in partnership with: o Drug Free Lee o Grace Church o United Way o Florida Department of Children and Families o Central Florida Behavioral Health Network o Prevention Alliance of Southwest Florida The program is free and open to the public. Seating is limited and registration is required. Scan QR code to register. For more information, email [email protected] or call (239) 560-1929.
