Visit Phoenix Presents: A Desert Alternative Showcase at SXSW
Visit Phoenix and There Space bring a curated slice of Phoenix’s emerging music scene to Austin with a free, official SXSW activation. From 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. on March 12 at Chess Club, A Desert Alternative Showcase spotlights the city’s most exciting rising artists and creative culture. The event features performances by fearofmakingout, Belgium Tree, and Pariah Pete—who has previously opened for artists including Doja Cat and Earthgang—along with alternative rapper kJADE and genre-blending artist Estelle Allen.
A signature Phoenix cocktail will be available for purchase, along with wings from Fat Fat’s Chicken Shack by Phoenix New Times Rising Star Chef Devan Cunningham. Guests can also enjoy free live screen printing by There Space, and the first 50 guests to arrive will receive a gift bag filled with goods from Phoenix businesses, plus a ticket redeemable for free wings.
