In our current information economy, math is everywhere, “Counted Out”, a math documentary, investigates the biggest crises of our time. Join Mathnasium of Papillion and the Omaha STEM Ecosystem for a free, special screening of “Counted Out” on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2026.
The event will take place at Metropolitan Community College – Fort Omaha Campus (Building 10 Auditorium), located at 5300 N. 30th Street in Omaha.
This new documentary shines a light on math as the foundation of democracy and economic opportunity. Following the screening, Michelle Koester, owner of Mathnasium Papillion, will lead an open discussion.
The people we date, the news we see, the education we can access, is all underwritten by an invisible layer of math that few of us understand, or even notice.
Through a mosaic of personal stories, expert interviews, and scenes of math transformation in action, “Counted Out” shows what’s at risk if we keep the status quo.
