United Jewish Federation Presents: Five for Fighting - John Ondrasik

UJF Presents John Ondrasik – Five for Fighting The concert will take place on September 7 at 7:30 pm STAMFORD, Conn. – United Jewish Federation of Stamford, New Canaan, and Darien (UJF) presents Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter John Ondrasik – Five for Fighting, for a concert on Sunday, September 7 at 7:30 pm at Rippowam Middle School, 381 High Ridge Road in Stamford. The event entitled “Superheroes Among Us” will celebrate and recognize an array of community leaders from around the Stamford, New Canaan, and Darien area for their outstanding service to the local Jewish community. “UJF is honored to welcome John Ondrasik of Five for Fighting, to perform for our local community” said UJF Chief Executive Officer Diane Sloyer. “His unwavering support for Israel and the Jewish people, combined with his powerful music and message of hope, makes this an especially meaningful event for all of us. As a community, we draw strength in being together in these most trying times”. Ondrasik has penned major hits, including the chart-topping "100 Years," "The Riddle," "Chances," "World," and "Easy Tonight," which have earned tens of millions of streams and place him as a Top 10 Hot Adult Contemporary artist for the 2000s. The reflective "100 Years" has joined "Superman (It's Not Easy)" as part of the American songbook and continues to stand the test of time, playing at weddings, birthdays, graduations, memorials, and in many home videos. Over 350 films, television shows, and commercials, such as the Oscar-winning The Blind Side, Hawaii Five-O, The Sopranos, and the CBS drama Code Black, have used Five for Fighting’s music. Following the events of October 7, 2023, Ondrasik became a staunch supporter and ally of Israel and the Jewish people. In April 2025, Ondrasik revised the lyrics to “Superman” as a tribute to Alon Ohel, a 24-year-old hostage, still currently held by Hamas. Ondrasik performed alongside Alon’s brother Ronen, his mother Idit, and a community of friends who gathered in Hostage Square, Tel Aviv. General admission early-bird pricing is $100 available through August 26. Tickets will increase to $136 on August 27. For more information about the event, please visit www.ujf.org/superhero or contact UJF CEO Diane Sloyer at [email protected]. We would appreciate pre-event coverage and if you would like to attend the event, please let Aaron Gaberman know, and we can have press credentials available. For over 50 years, United Jewish Federation of Stamford, New Canaan, and Darien has been a cornerstone of the Jewish community, dedicated to meeting the needs and values of individuals from around the community. From providing humanitarian relief to offering innovative programs and events for all ages, UJF works tirelessly to strengthen and sustain the Jewish community both locally and globally. --UJF--
