Turkeys Unveiled: Ecology and Live Encounter at Wildlands Conservancy

Thanksgiving is around the corner! Join Wildlands Conservancy to learn about conservation and natural history of one of the biggest symbols of Thanksgiving: the turkey! We welcome Bob Eriksen, a certified wildlife biologist with a masters' degree in wildlife ecology and management from Rutgers University. Bob has been involved for nearly fifty years in wild turkey research and management while working as a biologist with New Jersey Fish and Wildlife, the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources and the National WIld Turkey Federation. He has worked closely with the Pennsylvania Game Commission and Penn State on wild turkey studies here in the Commonwealth. Bob has live-trapped and banded wild turkeys in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Virginia and Sonora, Mexico. He and his wife Sue have six children and nineteen grandchildren. Afterwards, we will meet a bird that is often mistaken for a turkey. Best for ages 8 and up. There is a fee; please register online. Program questions? Contact Haley D’Agostino at [email protected]
