True Crime Author David Bushman -- Author's Talk
David Bushman is the author of five nonfiction books, two on true crime and three on pop culture. Both true crime books are set in the Capital Region: "Murder at Teal's Pond: Hazel Drew and the Mystery That Inspired Twin Peaks" (Thomas + Mercer, 2022) and "Forget It, Jake, It's Schenectady: The True Story Behind The Place Beyond the Pines" (Fayetteville Mafia Press, 2022). He is currently working on a third local crime book about the unsolved murder of Samantha Humphrey, the 14-year-old Schenectady girl who was last seen alive on Black Friday 2022 just prior to a late-night rendezvous with an ex-boyfriend.
Bushman spent two decades as a TV curator at The Paley Center for Media (formerly The Museum of Television + Radio) and before that was a TV editor at Variety and program director at TV Land.
The talk is part of SLCA’s Writers Series and is cosponsored by the Sand Lake Historical Society, which will unveil a historical marker at 1 p.m. on Taborton Road and Mosher Road near the site where Hazel Drew’s body was discovered.
