This special event will honor Norman's legacy through staged readings by the Moses Gunn/Norman Thomas Play Company's professional ensemble of actors, with credits including London's West End, Broadway, Off-Off Broadway, television, film, and regional theatre. Norman played a key role in the burgeoning Off-Off Broadway theatre scene in the 1960's and 1970's. The MGNMPC will perform scenes from the solo show that he co-wrote and performed all over the country and overseas about the abolitionist John Brown, playing 31 roles: "John Brown: Trumpet of Freedom" which won rave reviews. MGNMPC will also present a staged reading of Thornton Wilder's one-act play , "Happy Journey to Trenton and Camden". As part of this celebration there will be poetry read about Norman by some of his poet/actor friends, and refreshments will be served!!
