Registration Includes: Indigenous Land Recognition Mindful Nature Walk Journal Reflections Land Offerings Smoke Cleansing *You must submit your registration fee using the links below in order to participate. The beachside park is just south of Port Everglades and is the last example of an undeveloped coastal ecosystem in Broward County. The Barrier Island Nature Trail is suitable for inexperienced hikers and consists of walking along Whiskey Creek and the area’s thriving Mangroves. The 2024 Trail of Colors Hiking Tour seeks to unite outdoor enthusiasts of color (from beginner to expert) from all over the U.S. Outdoor groups and individuals are invited to participate in each host city and are also welcome to join other host cities on their hikes. Destination Elevated, will co-host the hikes in various states along with established outdoor groups from those regions. Each hike will raise funding for local youth programming, hiking equipment, and outdoor safety training in underserved areas. Non-Profit organizations which center outdoor skills and experiences are encouraged to apply to receive funding from the tour. The tentative program will include activities that foster group connections, recognize indigenous land, and ends with journal reflections and land offerings—a practice that has indigenous beginnings. Destination Elevated’s (DE) recent partnership with the Leave No Trace organization inspired DE to require all hike co-host organizations to complete the Leave No Trace 101 Course. The course is free and equips humans who enjoy the outdoors with the knowledge they need to leave minimal impact on the environment. The Trail of Colors National Hiking Tour is currently seeking Outdoor Groups & individuals from East to West to participate in the cross-state hiking event. The tour is LGBTQ Inclusive and open to all.
