Town of Reading 2025 Juneteenth Event
Join the Town of Reading for the Juneteenth Freedom Festival on Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Reading Town Common—a vibrant, family-friendly celebration honoring the significance of Juneteenth, the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States.
This dynamic community event will feature an exciting mix of music, food, education, and cultural experiences that reflect the historical importance of Juneteenth while creating space for joy, unity, and reflection.

🎉 Why Juneteenth Matters
Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, the day when enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, finally learned of their freedom—two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation. This celebration not only honors that historic day but also serves as a platform for learning, reflection, and action toward racial equity and justice.
