The SoundTrack Chamber Orchestra is a relatively new ensemble in the Denver area. It was founded by artistic director, David Mejia, a retired band and orchestra director whose love for film music gave him the vision for this group. Mejia writes most of the arrangements himself, specifically tailored to the small chamber ensemble’s unique instrumentation. This concert, titled Tom Hanksgiving, will feature music from movies starring actor, Tom Hanks. A veritable feast of musical magic and mayhem await concertgoers as the SoundTrack Chamber Orchestra performs selections from some of Mr. Hanks’s greatest films such as Joe vs. the Volcano, Sleepless in Seattle, Forrest Gump, and more, with some surprises thrown in.Admission to this concert is free and there is no ticket. Donations are greatly appreciated, as this wonderful ensemble solely exists based on donations from their audiences.
The SoundTrack Chamber Orchestra (SCO), founded in 2020, is an all-volunteer adult chamber ensemble specializing in music from any and all stage- or screen-based genres including movies, television, opera, musicals, and more. SCO is active throughout the Denver metropolitan area and is available for performances for the general public, assisted living facilities, hospitals, festivals, 4th of July celebrations, churches, and private parties. It is a young organization with a goal of establishing a 501(c)3 nonprofit status.
