Time To Shine Nebraska Premiere Movie Event

Lincoln, NE – June 3, 2024 – They were a brother and sister with a dream. Award-winning Nebraska independent filmmaker, Jim Fields, (Bugeaters), is pleased to announce his new short documentary film, “Time To Shine,” will have its Nebraska premiere on Sunday, June 23rd, at 5:00 p.m. at the Fremont Eagles Club in Fremont, Nebraska. Starring brother-sister, Dave and Donette Smith, “Time To Shine” is written, directed, and produced by Jim Fields; co-producer: Joseph William Simmons; Executive Producer: Christine Young. Recently, “Time To Shine” was featured as part of the Nosebleeds Film Festival in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, on May 25th, 2024. In the 1990's, Ivory Star was one of the most successful rock bands in Nebraska. The band was formed by Dave and Donette Smith, who are brother and sister. This short documentary is about their passion for music, their first group, Street Legal, and their regional rise to success with their next band, Ivory Star. At one point, Ivory Star sold over 20,000 copies of their self-distributed cd, Vicious Circle, which climbed to #21 on Album Network Magazine's Coalition of Independent Music Stores Sales charts. The band also opened for many major name acts. In addition, Ivory Star had 13 major record labels interested in signing them at that time as well. However, not all dreams come true in the music business.
