The Whags: "Routine for Now" Album Release at Tractor Tavern
The Whags celebrate the release of their debut full length album, "Routine for Now", at the Tractor Tavern in Ballard. The buzzing "Americana Groove" band has been gaining momentum with packed shows in Seattle and beyond. They'll romp through new songs on their album and dig deep into their jam-filled cache of tunes. The band will be joined by jazz-leaning neo-soul wizards Day Soul Exquisite, who will be releasing a single, and soulful singer-songwriter Kate Dinsmore.
A Seattle five-piece that blends psychedelic funk with vocal harmony laden sunshine pop. The Whags grew out of a group of longtime musical friends who began collaborating in the summer of 2017 when an impromptu show crossed their paths. The resulting songs would become the foundation for an ever-growing repertoire, incorporating sounds of groove-driven psychedelic funk, harmony-laden sunshine americana, and the swirly, soulful improvisation of another era. The group continues to gain notoriety through their dynamic live shows that manage to balance the casual intimacy of a late-night jam session with real rock spectacle. Debut EP, Smile Maker, released in spring of 2019 followed up by a series of singles. New singles out March 18, 2022.
