Harry Shannon, an early photo journalist wrote many stories about Arlington over 100years ago. “The Rambler” became Shannon’s moniker in the Washington Sunday Star from 1912-1927 because he “rambled” around the Washington area. on horseback, bicycle, or on foot. Shannon's work has become history's treasures. He described houses, forts, businesses, schools, clubs, churches, creeks, groups, mills, monuments, roads, and people. Local historian Marty Suydam will help transport you back in history with the Rambler's first-hand accounts. This is free and open to the public. You can attend via Zoom or in-person. See the website for details on both ways to attend.
