A spur of the Manassas Gap Railroad was planned to run through Annandale. The beds that were constructed are still visible on parkland at the Manassas Gap Railroad Historic Site in Annandale and Hidden Oaks Nature Center. Former park manager Michael McDonnell will share how the railroad almost came to Annandale and what happened next. Register if you'd like a reminder. Adults and teens.

Michael McDonnell earned his MA in U.S. History from George Mason University. He served in various park management roles in the Fairfax County Park Authority for 40 years before retiring in 2023.
