The Purple Party, A Celebration of The Music of Prince featuring Purple Luscious Love
Purple Luscious Love is a musical project devoted to recreating the attitude and energy of the music of Prince. Founded by multi-instrumentalist and singer JME Strchild, PLL played its first official show in the wake of Prince’s passing in 2017 to a packed house at Sully’s Pub in Hartford, CT. The group would then expand to other cities in the state, bringing the lively and expansive show to adoring Prince fans from all corners of the Northeast.
PLL’s set features a wide range of songs from Prince’s prolific catalog, including hits from the beloved album Purple Rain. There are no costumes or Prince cosplay on stage. The fans, however, are encouraged to dress to the nines, some even wearing clothing from their favorite Prince concerts or making their own custom Prince paraphernalia.
Music Back Then is a new music venue dedicated to the full concert experience, with an intimate yet awe-inspiring space to witness your favorite local, regional, and national artists. This year’s PLL lineup includes: JME Strchild on guitar, keys, and vocals, Rachel Tonucci on vocals, Lawrence V. White on electric and synth bass, and Mark Manczuk on drums.
Tickets for Purple Luscious Love’s show are only $19.99, and are available via Eventbrite.com, or at the Music Back Then box office. Doors open at 7pm, and the show begins at 7:30pm.
