Have you ever stopped to think about how the colors we see everyday are so consistent, no matter where we are or what brand we encounter? From the iconic red of Coca-Cola to the rich green of Starbucks, color has become a defining feature of identity and design. But behind this seamless visual experience is a fascinating history—one that is explored in the new work-in-progress documentary The Pantone Guy.
The Amalgamated Printers' Association (APA) and American Advertising Federation of Greater Rochester (AAFGR) are proud to bring this special screening to Rochester for one night only, hosted at the Webb Auditorium at RIT College of Art and Design.
Enjoy The Pantone Guy, a film that takes you behind the scenes of one of the most innovative and impactful systems in design history: the Pantone Matching System (PMS). In this engaging and thought-provoking film, you’ll discover how Herbert’s invention of the PMS transformed the way the world views and interacts with color. What was once a fragmented, inconsistent process of color matching is now a universal language, used by industries worldwide to ensure precise and uniform color reproduction.
