The Moth x Center for Creativity: A Five-Year Celebration

The Center for Creativity is proud to celebrate five years as Tulsa’s exclusive community program partner of The Moth with an evening of curated storytelling by Moth alumni on Tuesday, October 28 at 5:30 pm. This is an in-person event and registration is required via Eventbrite. The event will also be live streamed, which you can access here: https://tulsacc.hosted.panopto.com/Panopto/Pages/Viewer.aspx?id=652cf4a6-f3a1-40b6-861b-b36e013c011b Registration is NOT needed to watch online live. The program will open with a special welcome from Juan Rodriguez, Senior Manager at The Moth, and continue with powerful stories of triumph, tragedy, humor, and hope. Since 2020, the Center for Creativity and The Moth have partnered to provide eleven storytelling intensives, including The Moth’s first-ever Deaf Voices workshop. These programs have empowered Tulsans to find and share their stories—elevating local voices to the Moth Mainstage in both Tulsa and Dallas. The strength of this partnership helped bring more Moth events to Tulsa, including the launch of the Pop Up Porch tour in 2022, and Mainstage and StorySLAM events, including the upcoming Mainstage at Cain’s Ballroom this November. This free, public celebration not only honors the partnership but also looks ahead: two lucky audience members will win the opportunity to develop and share their own true personal story at The Moth x Center for Creativity’s spring storytelling workshop. The collaboration between The Moth and the Center for Creativity was first envisioned by the Center’s Dean, Annina Collier, who subsequently became a storytelling instructor for The Moth. “Tulsa’s storytellers amaze me with their honesty, vulnerability, and humor. Being able to help bring The Moth to this community, and to watch local voices rise onto national stages, has been a dream come true,” said Collier. Together, The Moth and the Center for Creativity continue to expand opportunities for Tulsans to share, connect, and amplify their voices on local and national stages. Registration required.
